    Anybody Here Who Doesn't Swear?

i saw a thread title with 'Holy COW' in it - i don't think i have ever seen the word 'holy' followed by anything but 'shit' or occassionally 'crap'. are there any GFYers who don't use profanity? i do know somebody whom i have only heard swear a handful of times.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

I swear constantly. I can't help it but I do try to moderate it. I have a couple of friends who can manage to say "fuck" 3 times in a sentence. I don't want to sound as idiotic as they do.

My wife doesn't. I've known her since I was 16 and I've never heard her say any curses. She says Darn it! for damn

Me on the other hand... I can't help myself. I try to call as many people ASSHOLE in one day as I can. I think my record is 213. Of course 120 of those were to Shoehorn.

              I seo'd my hair yesterday and today it's pr7!

You know, I call it 'verbal dilution' when people swear much. Their words are used in vain and lose their weight and value... It also just sounds stupid.

I was raised by a pack of drunken sailors (well, not really but my cursing appears to back this up) and I have a very nasty habit of cursing. Plus working in a bar and truckstop while I was in college didn't help. I try to really watch it but it is ingrained, I think.

Edited to say I admire folks who do not curse. Good for you!

                                    Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English language today, is the word fuck. Of all the English words beginning with f, fuck is the single one referred to as the "f-word". It's the one magical word. Just by it's sound it can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. Fuck, as most of the other words in English, has arrived from Germany. Fuck from German's "fliechen" which mean to strike. In English, fuck folds into many grammatical categories. As a transital verb for instance, "John fucked Shirley". As an intransitive verb; "Shirley fucks". It's meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as an adjective such as; John's doing all the fucking work. As part of an adverb; "Shirley talks too fucking much", as an adverb enhancing an adjective; Shirley is fucking beautiful. As a noun; "I don't give a fuck". As part of a word: "abso-fucking-lutely" or "in-fucking-credible". Or as almost every word in a sentence: "fuck the fucking fuckers!". As you must realize, there aren't many words with the versitility such as the word fuck,as in these examples used as the following words;
                                    - fraud: "I got fucked"
                                    - trouble: "I guess I'm really fucked now"
                                    - dismay: "Oh, fuck it!"
                                    - aggresion: "don't fuck with me, buddy!"
                                    - difficulty: "I don't understand this fucking question"
                                    - inquery: "who the fuck was that?"
                                    - dissatisfaction: "I don't like what the fuck is going on here"
                                    - incompetence: "he's a fuck-off!"
                                    - dismissal: "why don't you go outside and fuck yourself?"

I'm sure you can think of many more examples.
With all these multipurpoused applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word?
Use this unique, flexibel word more often in your daily speech. It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly:
                                    FUCK YOU!
                                    (written by monty python)

I had a friend who did a voluteer radio show in NZ - he asked me to fill in for 10 mins - I told him no fucking way!!

He said dont worry you have a great English accent the Kiwis will love you - just speak the same way you do to me.

After five mins they took me off air and said they had never had so many complaints in their 20 year history.

lmao. Everyone swears/curses. Every time they say 'darn' in place of damn, or 'crap' in place of shit, or whatever the fuck else they substitute in their place. A swear/curse word has nothing to do with the word itself but rather the meaning behind the word. Context is everything.

Personally, I haven't cursed in front of my kids EVER!

... and I DO get offended when someone else does.

Ok, that's cool - but that didn't address the question I asked at all.

I'm sure you're around kids in public, right?

Do you curse/swear when you're at a resturaunt or walking past people in a mall or at a supermarket? Do you consider your surroundings and the people in your vicinity at all?

I mean, we have freedom of speech, of course - but similarly to screaming FIRE in a crowded building if there is none ... some things ARE frowned upon by even the most liberal of society.

Hey, I've cursed like a trucker for 38 years but there are boundaries I won't cross. It's more out of respect for others and less due to IT'S MY RIGHT TO CURSE and if YOU'RE OFFENDED - THEN FUCK YOU!

see, i never fell into a lot of the teachings society forced on me, one of them is that some words aren't meant for some people....to me fuck is just a word, and sorry if it is offensive to you, but I am a firm believer in context of words and not the words themself

like someone said above, if you say CRAP! so everyone hears it, it is just the same as yelling SHIT! so everyone hears it, the only thing different is that some societal rule taught you that one word was taboo and the other wasn't

it never made any sense, so why should I try and make sense of it?

The words are not offensive to me, personally. I curse on a daily basis. However, kids do what you do - and if you curse in front of them, they learn that it's ok ... even if you tell THEM not to.

I'm only offended if the person cursing has no consideration that they are speaking in front of my 9 yr old or 2 1/2 yr old OR kids in general. Then it's disrespectful and just plain rude for no reason.

As I mentioned above, there are times and places where doing or saying certian things are just inappropriate. IMO cursing in front of children is a prime example.

I swear - I try not to in front of my kids or other kids.

I don't have a problem with adults that cuss, shit, damn, hell, blah. I do have a problem with adults or teenagers that choose to say the word fuck, 15 times, loudly.

I have walked up and told people to watch their mouths in front of the kids. I have told my wife, my friends, and I would tell you.

Cuss all you want but respect others not wanting to hear a 2 year old repeat fuck, bitch, whore, cunt, nig, ect.. respect the two year old to not get his ass beat because he heard you say shit, when he repeats it later...

Of all the English words beginning with f, fuck is the single one referred to as the "f-word". It's the one magical word. Just by it's sound it can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. Fuck, as most of the other words in English, has arrived from Germany. Fuck from German's "fliechen" which mean to strike. In English, fuck folds into many grammatical categories. As a transital verb for instance, "John fucked Shirley". As an intransitive verb; "Shirley fucks". It's meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as an adjective such as; John's doing all the fucking work. As part of an adverb; "Shirley talks too fucking much", as an adverb enhancing an adjective; Shirley is fucking beautiful. As a noun; "I don't give a fuck". As part of a word: "abso-fucking-lutely" or "in-fucking-credible". Or as almost every word in a sentence: "fuck the fucking fuckers!". As you must realize, there aren't many words with the versitility such as the word fuck,as in these examples used as the following words;

                                                              FUCK YOU!

                                                              LMAO
