Toyota deserves anything it gets. These guys knew the cars were dangerous and had potential problems but they cut a deal in order to sell them anyway. What is more fucked up is that Toyota used lobbyists to help then get some rule changes that cut the costs of product recalls for them by around 100 million.
So they knew they had a potentially dangerous product, they used lobbyists to help them save money on doing any recalls and then they ignored the problem until people started getting hurt and now they are suddenly sorry and want us to trust them again.
Fuck em.
I have never owned a Toyota and now never will. I am putting them on the list with Ford as a car I will never buy because of their shady business practices. . . of course if I look close enough I'm sure every car maker would end up on my list and I would be driving a horse drawn buggy
