When I lived in US I ordered some skates from canada and some sports equipment for team I was on and we didnt have to pay anything. The total value was around 1.5 K so I would think you have nothing to worry about.

there is probabaly duty on it , but most likely its made in Japan, they enjoy a favorable tax rate. So the duty would be minimal
