belief in God is taken as absolute truth from and by same religious crowd that were pushing belief that sun rotated around earth, and they claimed they knew everything about heavens. did God forget to tell them earth was rotating around sun? did Jesus tell them to start witch hunts and burning massacres?
power, control, brainwash, repeat rinse and collect money on sundays because Jesus is in heavens and no one can make instant wine out of water anymore, but there is mighty God somewhere and if you do wrong, think wrong, look wrong, you'll end up in hell. and no you can never doubt anything holy because what bible says is an absolute truth!
