There is some truth to this. If you have ever developed an AJAX application on your localhost you will notice that Chrome is very slow (No clue why...). I love Chrome and I've been using it since the first beta but there is no single browser that can do everything. I use FF for development (FireBug, TamperData, UserAgent Switcher, etc.), Chrome for browsing, and IE for compatibility testing only. I've noticed FF is faster since the latest release also.
