Easily one of the best books I've read (in regards to this business/industry). Even though I don't typically do my own design, the usability concepts explained in this book have helped me identify usability/ui mistakes and have saved me a lot of time/grief/money.
Anyone that runs websites and especially designers should read it.

SEO wise tableless design is best. Also from a design perspective css/tableless design offers the ability to rapidly change a sites look without editing a lick of html.
Take a look at www.csszengarden.com for some good examples. Every single design on that site uses the exact same html file.
