I don't own an ipod. And considering a vast group of ipod owners are under 18, probably not. =)

But Skin Video has ipod downloads. And they rebill over and over and over. Users stick with this site.

I think it was a fad when it came out, probably a few people watch it. maybe when the Hard drives are 200 gig and people sync all of their content from their PC's to their Ipod movie watching might become more popular on them.

i mean look at the concept of a portable mp3 player , what is it used for ? it' used for listening to media when out of the house (train,plane,automobile,public transport, jogging ) are ppl really going to be looking at porn in those situations

I live in South Africa and almost every night I similar see ads on TV (late hours) - like: SMS "porn" to 34567 to download the latest striptease movie (I don't think they send hardcore porn though)

now in order for them to pay for an ad on national tv they must cover their costs and make a buck or two on top of that but ...... the resaon they can do it here is because there's no law that regulates that kind of content distribution and my guess is that the majority of the people that get the movies are teenage guys - so they go to school and braq to their friends, swap movies with them, or rub one out in the bathroom while watching it on their phones

a bit off-topic - the Asians (esp Japanese) are watching more and more TV on their cellphones - game shows, soapies, sport, you name it

There's plenty of places you could take a ipod and not your TV or PC. If you had a laptop you could always use that though. There will be other well known players sooner or later too such as MS Zune.

We encode all the scenes on lightspeedtv.com in multiple formats, including Ipod. I don't think it is the reason surfers are buying memberships, but its an extra feature that we provide that saves them the time and trouble of encoding it themselves. We track the downloads, right now about 5-6% of our users are downloading the Ipod files.

I've put a few movies on my ipod, and watched them on a hotel tv using the video-out mode. The quality is decent enough that its like a portable dvd/cd player.

I would have to agree with Steve.

It is a nice feature to have as one of the formats available to members and a great opportunity for those Webmaster with IPod specific traffic.

We are currently encoding all the DVD's on the MovieProfits sites for IPod for that reason (Added Feature). For some it maybe what keeps the membership active.

Great for branding as a novalty I think but it wears off. If someone sees your brand on an IPOD or phone for that matter, are they going to remember it, then log on to your site and join? Doubt it. If your going to encode for web you mind as well offer it I suppose but I dont see it as a stand alone if your a small site wm. Why would someone want porn so bad they have to take it with them? I dont see it.

Kinda late to the topic, but I was searching around and found this.

I can tell you that without a doubt people are buying iPod Porn. You might be surprised, but PSP's are selling just as much, if not more, right now. And with other devices like Zune coming out, there's only going to be a bigger and bigger market.

You can tell that people got them for Christmas, too because we saw huge spikes as early as noon on Christmas day for sales.

It's true that watching it on a big TV will be best, but hey, people still read dirty magazines and they don't even move or make noises.

But you can watch it on the big screen. It's a matter of buying a cable and hooking up your iPod to the television. We do this all the time, although not with porn, but with movies and television shows.

Check out podcasts. There is plenty of porn. And, the generations coming up can't live without their cell phones and iPods. Keep in mind that kids are moving out of mommy's house at later ages, so that's what they have. They want privacy and mobility....
