I don't think anyone knows for sure if it's human or natural. There are a lot more scientists who believe it is human, but scientists could be wrong. I just think it is silly that there is so much arguing over an issue like this when neither side really has anything solid to go on.

17,000 thousand scientists is meaningless, most of them aren't even in the climatology field. If these were scientists who were doing reasearch and getting it published then it'd be worth another look.
I have no problem with people questioning the human impact on climate change that's how science works, but you need to publish your research and let it be scrutinised by the wider community.
I've always been very sceptical of man-made climate change because it's just an incredibly difficult thing to calculate, I think impossible to work out empirically, but even if you're sceptical you have to take into account that MANY very reputable organisations have peer reviewed the research and have come to some degree of agreement (see IPCC, National Academy of Science) whereas those against climate change have not really had much impact. Could the dissenters be right? sure, only time will tell.
If the dissenters are right then we'll all be fine, if they're wrong then the outcome could be disastorous. And implementing the changes required for climate change aren't particularly onerous. Those who say reducing carbon emissions will devastate the economy are mostly scaremongering or protecting wasteful industries. Those who more efficiently use fuels, or use cheaper energy will win in the long-run anyway, and it's been interesting how the increase in the cost of oil has started this trend anyway, with science taking the lead in innovation of newer, cleaner energy.Comment

Not for everyone. There are a lot of people who believe the Al Gore thing because they are sheep. I don't think anyone knows for sure what exactly is going on, and we may never know.
But the only reason you don't believe in global warming is because it's in the Republican talking points. The same can be said for a lot of those who are for global warming.
Everyone should be fighting to find answers, not arguing over assumptions. There is absolutely no reason not to want to look into global warming more thoroughly. However, we should all be looking for independent scientists that aren't paid by people who have an agenda.Comment

That petition is six years old. Here's a recent excerpt about it.
