You're right in that the Republicans really have no idea where they're going right now, whereas the Democrats are at least getting some media and hype.
But I think the Democrats have a huge challenge ahead of them. The people were pissed about the war, so they decided to give the Democrats a shot after much hooting and hollering. The Democrats have been promising change. They have 18 months to make a real difference or people are going to be wondering "wait a minute, we gave them a chance, they haven't made good on many promises, and they want me to elect a cold fish (Clinton) yet again?"
She has a lot of hype surrounding her, mainly from the far left, minorities, and "people that want a change". Thats nice and all, but is it enough to win? We shall find out.
Frankly I think if the Democrats want to win they need to find someone with charisma, passion, and excitement... didn't really see much of that with Gore or Kerry, don't see enough of it with Hillary either.
