People either forget our out of ignorance don't know that as far back as the Middle Ages in the UK and Europe the Jews were forced in to the position of moneylender and other jobs considered necessary evils because of Christian Law. And even though it wasn't part of the Roman Catholic dogma, it was a widely held belief that the Jews as a people were collectively responsible for the death of Jesus.
