Fair assessment notabook
It would be more than reasonable to have *actual* evidence presented if there is any suggestion of more "wars" - and would guess members of the houses would want to see it in full detail now. They may have accepted it first time around, but someone cried wolf too often and now lacks credibility.

Considering that the Iraqi insurgents are now using VERY SOPHISTICATED 'shaped charge' explosive technology for IEDs, I am not surprised about the Iranian connection. Shaped charges blast through armor and are extremely lethal--they also require a high level of training and sophistication to set up with IEDs. Exactly the kind of high level training and sophistication which can be furnished by the Iranian military (which became very battle-hardened after 10 years of war with Iraq in the 80s).Comment

Well let's see the evidence. IEDs are a guerilla style weapon, I doubt they were used in large numbers during the Iraq/Iran war. The fact is insurgents in Iraq now are very battle-hardened and there's been a progressive evolution in the IEDs as counter-measures have been implemented etc. I would be VERY hesitant to jump to conclusions about Iranian influence in this respect without good evidence.Comment

Of course the vote by congress was not "approving invasion" it was giving the President the power to use the military option, it was like waving a big stick. Most people gave Bush the benefit of the doubt that he'd use this as a last resort and allow weapons inspections and diplomacy sufficient time to work. Alas they were mistaken to do so.Comment
