    too serious to joke about??

    I was reading this list of "ice breaker" type questions to get to know someone, and one of the questions was "What is something that you consider too serious to be joked about?"

    It seems like people joke about almost everything these days.
    Is there anything far too serious?

          Be careful about most diseases, because they're bound to know someone who has something... Things like diabetes and STDs and epilepsy are very very common.

          Dead babies are a no-no also. Feel out the racist jokes, cause while they can be the funniest jokes out there, some people get really pissed.

                  Some people don't think you can go too far; like the SOuth Park guys, who parodied Irwin right after he died. Also, remember there are 9/11 jokes and there were a ton of space shuttle jokes after the crash with that teacher in '86.

                          I remember there was a skit that George Carlin did about this very thing and one of the topics he mentioned was rape, you can't joke about rape. Sure you can, picture Elmer Fudd raping Porky Pig

                                                      i'd say you can joke about anything, but if you are concerned about what people will get upset about, its something completely different.

                                                      but again, everything can be joked about, its all about how the joke is made/delivered.

                                                      Stephen Lynch made a lovely song called Dead Puppies fx and im already starting to smile just thinking of it : )

                                                                      It's pretty amazing that some people lack the common sense to know some of that though.
