Ya know it really isn't a drinking holiday.. and while I'm not latino/hispanic, I was reading about some older-generation Latinos who are pissed at what the celebration has become. It's a festival of their culture and history, not alcohol.
In California they are holding huge alcohol and tobacco free festivals to bring back the culture and family-oriented nature of the event.
Not to say that I'm against drinking, certainly.. and I hope you enjoy your booze however and whenever you choose to enjoy it, I know I will
..but let us not forget what the holiday is about.
