I am on the board of directors of one of the largest indie music labels, betarecords.com.
We do a monthly jam session and had Sen Doc of Cypress Hill do a jam session a few months ago.... They rocked it.
I enjoyed listening to Cypress Hill songs such as "Insane in the Membrane" and "Dr Greenthumb".
A different band called Yeah Yeah Yeahs has some interesting music. Listening to Karen O sing on August 4, 2009 made me experience something I didn't feel before.
They chose a great hook/melody to sample but it coulda def been better. Would like to see a better remix of it or the hook used by someone else. I was never a fan of the majority of the original song, just the end where it comes in, around 6:30..
Crosby, Stills & Nash, No Young - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
When I was in Scotland back in 94' I went to a concert with some cousins not knowing who would be there. Turns out every group or band I was into at the time was there. The final show was RATM and just when we thought it was over all the lights went out and it was completely dark on the stage. Then after about 3 minutes or so the stage began to glow with this orange light. Like someone smoking a cig in a dark room but much bigger. Then you could hear at low volume "Hits from the bong" then the stage lights went up and it was Cypress Hill on stage. The glowing light was a huge hand holding a spliff with smoke coming out of it. lol. After they did hits from the bong Rage joined them on stage and did a pretty long set. They did Rage and Cypress songs together. It was something I'll never forget. The crowd of almost 50k people were going nuts. Crowd surfing, jumping up and down. I was just a kid having a blast.
