Sorry about your loss. The only bright-side (if you can call it that), is it was likely quick and painless. Also you didn't have to shell out mega bucks for end of life health-related issues that often happen with pets, including paying to put them down, etc.
Sorry to hear about that, but that is how it goes with outdoor cats... i've had a few myself get hit by passing cars... now they get spayed/neutered and stay inside for life.... seems to work out better for them in the long run.
That sure sucks. I know how hard it is to lose a good friend
Yes it is. He was an awesome cat, could win over the worst cat haters, everyone of them. He spent his summers greeting every customer that came into my store and sitting with me on the porch, he didn't catch mice and has only caught one bird in his life, he was always to busy being friendly with ppl.
I'm gonna miss him scratching on my window to come in on at night or waking up to him looking in the window at me... LOL He was to good for the doggie door or the regular door.

Hang in there...
for a real pet lover the money involved doesnt fucking matter, what you just said makes absolutely no sense at all.

sorry to hear that about your kitty goldfish...
yep, thats the way it was with him, if I could have found a way to save him, no matter the cost, I would have.
I'm trying to figure out now what to say to a little boy that comes up every yr while here on vacation, he loved boo kitty, he would beg and beg to come see him until his mom would bring him every day while they were here, hell his mom would even use it as punishment, if yo don't behave in this store you can't go see boo today... and it worked.

Not really.. it isn't in their nature to be indoors 24/7... look at their claws, instincts, even sleeping schedule, you'll notice cats always playfight with there are other animals around, even with dogs. Unfortunately, their ability to judge danger is subpar. They start running when they are genuinely scared, or trying to run away from something, but as it gets closer and larger or noiser, they freeze and go into a protective mode. This protective instinct is what kills cats on the road unfortunately.

It was a sadly realistic statement. I actually have NUMEROUS pets myself. I love them all, and I am sorry for her loss, but the truth is, as pets age, there are often VERY EXPENSIVE issues that occur.
Just last week alone I spent over $700 on one of my cat's due to an ear hematoma. If the bill was for something more serious, and it was like $7,000 instead, it would not have gone so well.

Actually what happened with him (cop saw it happen, knew he belonged to me, etc) was his flight instinct but that instinct led him into the path of the car.
Guy up the street started cutting something with a Skihl Saw, he is petrified of them, he ran. Normally running out into the street here isn't an issue, he knew that, he crossed it 10 times a day, there are only 50 yr round residents but we are transitioning into the busy season here and traffic is increasing, normally when we get further into the season he stays in the yard.

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear that. You have my deepest sympathies. I'm petting this stray cat that I rescued two weeks ago as I write this - the poor guy weighted 5 lbs when I pulled him out of the storm drain. He is purring contentedly with a full belly and in a warm house. You and your kitty will be in my thoughts tonight, with my best wishes for you.
