How to cancel a credit card charge on something stupid as fuck

I bought a boob job for what is now going to be my xwife. It is scheduled next week. I went to the doctor and tried to cancel. They said even though i paid, the contract is in her name so they would not cancel it. The diea being if they gave me my money back they would have a signed and paid for contract with her.

Think my card will cancel it? Any idea as to where i stand. I am just lucky it is in Brazil and not the US (2k boob job).

It probably depends on if the money has "gone through" yet of not, doesn't it? If the credit card people haven't actually paid out the money I am sure you could cancel...but if they had you would have to get a refund from the doctors, and that means convincing your wife/ex-wife to cancel the contract

Go to your bank and charge it back...YOU are the true owner of the contract..I just went through the same thing with USairways..

I bought a round trip ticket for her from San Juan to Tulsa over the holidays...A couple of days later, the bitch went crazy and broke my bedroom door...So I wanted to cancel her return flight....the airline told me that the contract was with her and SHE was the owner of the flight and that they would not cancel it..I told them they could keep the money and I didn't need credit for it but don't let her on that fucking plane...

I told them that since I'M the owner of the ticket since I paid for it with MY card, I would be on my way to the bank to charge it back...

Thank God she believed me when I told her I cancelled her ticket and since the ticket expired before the charge dispute got resolved...since the surgery is coming up next week, I advise you put in a dispute IMMEDIATELY before they actually perform the service...If you wait until afterwards, you're fucked.

If they haven't yet charged your card then simply cancel it. (If you want to be a real asshole, don't tell your ex. As they say, "the contract is with her" so she's liable for the charges)

If they've already charged your card then you may still be able to recover the funds. Call your bank and see what they'll do.

I will call Monday and if they will not cancel, I am going to add them to the property dispute. If she agrees to let me try them out a few times maybe we can just let it go.... fucking hate divorces. But hate being married more, it is tough.

slapass, if nothing else, the cost of those boobs is now common debt, and to be shared between the partners.

You could also "lose" you card and ask the bank to issue a new one if the charges haven't gone through yet.

Slapass, unfortunatley places like that and hotels etc etc, put a "hold funds" on the card, so if you have 3000 in your account, they are holding 2k, and you can really only spend 1k.

The best suggestion I have seen so far was from RawAlex, cancel your card, number changes and when they try to whack the card, it might not work, no idea though, i am very curious. You can always call your credit card and tell them not to let it through.

call the cc company and try to block any transactions
let them tell you what you can do... otherwise canceling the card might be a good idea... not sure

depending on the credit card, it may be no problem.

american express usually favors their customers, and ive never had a problem with them. however with BofA bank card, its always a hassel. Call and dispute the charge. Regardless, im sure you can get out of the contract
