Now, further to make this intresting, assume that a like number of people were watching Grey's Anatomy (slightly more, but for argument) and that a similar number of people were watching "other things".
666,045 gigs per hour required bandwith, just in the US, just for thursday night prime time.
Now, further, let's assume that each routing has 10 jumps. Total required bandwidth becomes a staggering 6,660,450 gigs PER HOUR.

Um, it's a 100k file used to decode the video, and doesn't require installation. It also has nothing to do with the DRM.

Rowan, go back and do a little study about what happened when kazaa and napster hit the net. Universities were crying because they had no bandwidth left. People on token ring network cable modems saw their connect speeds drop to about dialup levels... and that was for weenie little music files.
Let's be nice and say 10% of the people move. Still 600,000 - 700,000 gigs of bandwidth (just for the US). There isn't that much bandwidth lying around, especially not at the consumer ISP level. Plus, considering many people with high speed are on "cable modems", you can bet the cable companies won't be rushing to put enough bandwidth out there to compete with themselves.Comment
