    New Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack DLC leaked!

    Although unconfirmed by IW, it looks like five maps will be available for download for Modern Warfare 2 March 30, 2010. The cost will be 1200 MS Points.

    There will be three new maps and two from COD Modern Warfare ( Crash, Overgrown )

    I also read that one more map pack will be released later.

    I'm ready for some new maps even though they threw in a couple old one which I don't mind.

          It looks like it will be released for the 360 first.

          Again, none of this has been confirmed by Infinity Ward and has been either leaked or just a rumor but we can hope

              I'll buy it but it pisses me off they are adding maps from MW1 if i wanted to play those maps i'd just play MW1. Relase those maps free and make us pay for 5 NEW maps...

                  People like the nostalgia of playing old maps in the new game. They have done a handful of halo 2 maps in halo 3. In halo's instance they 're-visit' the maps, so they are not just copies but rehashed, improved, re-skinned. I wonder what they'll do with these mw maps.

                      It sucks that we won't get five new maps but I'm thinking that in order to get the map packs out in a timely manner they have to use a couple already finished to speed up the process.

                      If they waited until they built five completely new maps the release date would have to be pushed back with the danger of players losing interest. I'm much happier to get them this way then to wait another three months just to get two more new maps. This way I get something now and some more later.

                          I saw a screen cap of the new " Overgrown " map and it had a fence in it that isn't in the original so I'm hoping they have done what you've said and made them better. I totally understand using an old map as a " template " and improving on it. I'd much rather get two old maps along with three new ones than just three new ones or waiting a few more months for five new ones.

                                          Crash was my favorite map from COD4. Long as they don't add Bloc I'm happy. Hate that freaking sniper/camper map. I wish they would add some closer quarter maps. Most of the maps in MW2 are huge. Most times you spawn way over on the otherside and have to run back to the action.

                                                      I don't understand why people piss and moan like little bitches about "campers" when this is supposed to be a simulator of war. Snipers and otherwise concealed forces are an absolutely critical part of any offensive/defensive force, and should not have their importance downplayed just because people don't like the fact that that can't run around any place on a map and not expect to get picked off!

                                                          lol, dude, you realize there is a goal to win the game.. If you have campers taht never move... you play the game correctly, you are just being a duck for the camper.. With this mindset, everyone should become a camper, then what.. nothing happens the game ceases to exist..

                                                          Has nothing to do about a sniper being a sniper thats his real life job.. It's a game, and if you are not going to play it correctly, you shouldnt be rewarded.. But I guess blame that on developers for not giving the huge points to the ones that complete goals.

                                                          To top it off when you try to play and your own team has 10/15 being sniper and you lose, it gets frustrating.. What it comes down to.. is games are no longer catered to skilled gamers anymore.. they haev been outnumbered by the growing population of parasites now playing games, and the companies know this.. feeding them these stupid weapons that ensure the gameplay is truly tainted and unfun..

                                                          The skilled player is ceasing to exist.. trust me i ran gaming communities for 10 years now.. the skilled gamer hardly logs in anymore.. the children these days coming in the community are so fucking wacked and outthere and clueless to what skill and teamwork is.. its frightening..

                                                                  Considering your gripes with this game, I HIGHLY suggest checking out MAG for PS3. While campers do still exist in the game, it's more balanced being that the maps are HUGE, objective based and populated with up to 256 players.

                                                                                      I've been playing the shit out of MW2 and doing much better at it than I ever did at halo (and I wasn't bad @ halo!) - but now I have a couple problems.

                                                                                      I started playing Hardcore HQ and can't play anything else now. Every other game type seems to require a whole clip of bullets to kill someone.

                                                                                      Anyway, I go to join a game and 99% of the time now it's like 5 seconds away from being over on the losing team. I stick around and get stuck with the shit team - I leave (I NEVER QUIT though!) and join another game and again 99% of the time it's like 5 seconds away from being over on the losing team.

                                                                                      I had a group of guys I played with but they all went to bad company. So now I just get frustrated after about 5 games of HARDCORE camping and dumb fuckwits on my team and I just go back to work.

                                                                                      Starting to think I'm growing out of video games or something.

                                                                                                              Challenges, Titles and Emblems

                                                                                                              It is currently unknown what Challenges, Titles, and Emblems there are, only how many of each. There are 20 new Challenges, 10 Titles, and 10 Emblems.

                                                                                                              Perks

                                                                                                              Perks are going to be added in the map pack. The first two are new, while the third is from previous games.

                                                                                                              * Quickhands (allows the player to switch weapons faster)
                                                                                                              * Heterochromaniac (allows the player to toggle thermal vision)
                                                                                                              * Overkill (allows the player to equip two primary weapons.)

                                                                                                              Weapons

                                                                                                              There are three new weapons to be added in the map pack.

                                                                                                              * Dragunov - A semi-automatic sniper rifle.
                                                                                                              * Skorpion - A submachine gun
                                                                                                              * Unknown weapon

                                                                                                              Special Ops

                                                                                                              There are five new Spec Ops missions in the new section, "Foxtrot".

I spend a lot of time finding the best hiding places, and I play a lot of Hardcore Team Deathmatch, so that when I kill someone they don't get killcam to see where to shoot the rocket next time. The con is that I may die 5-6 times just trying to get to my spot! Also, if someone spots me, those deaths it took to get to the spot were all for naught. Playing the sniper has just many tricks and skills to develop as playing the assault/doorbuster type.

                                                                                                                      Best thing is to change to another game type for a match or two, then go back to your Hardcore HQ. Should put you in another "playlist".

                                                                                                                      But it might just be that you constantly run into lobbies where there is one full squad (party) against a bunch of randoms. Which can make things hard if they are good. ;-)

                                                                                                                      I stopped playing TDM and now almost only play Domination and thats the best move I´ve ever done on MW2. TDM was full of campers - but on domination I rack up the kills and often go above 40-50. Way less camping in Domination. Totally recommend that game mode. :-)

                                                                                                                                  Camping is one thing, sniping on an objective-based game is another. If half my team is sniping when we're supposed to be planting bombs or taking flags then we lose. If you're one of those fuckholes who is only concerned with racking up kills when you should be completing an objective then please go play halo.
