The problem with trademarking an adult themed website is that unless it is a unique solo girl's name, which doesn't even always work, you have to add the .com. For example, I could not trademark BustyAmateurBoobs, but I can trademark BustyAmateurBoobs.com. So now when someone registers the domain .xxx I can't do anything ... I have the trademark to the .com.Comment

This is so typical..
Now Arab..or what ever your name is, where were you with your anti .XXX letters were being written?
Where were you when everyone was trying to raise awareness?
A post like this calling me names can only come from one place....say hi to everyone at .XXX and Stuart...tell then we will see him in Los Angeles....oh and tell him this also
Well now i can also see you are just a long time old timer here at GFY too...what rock did you crawl out from ? Maybe time to go back to where you came from? Nice post count...lol

Well if you don't post it then you are also selling us out.. Ever think of that?Lets just say if i had the complete list of who is involved and has made all the future traffic deals and has been paid money for there votes....
What would you do?
1. Trade it for massive life time traffic?
2. Just post it up so everyone can see who is selling us out?
3. Sell it back to one of those on the list, biggest offer gets it?
4. Keep it to myself and be a good guy and not rock the boat...lol
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

This is naïve at best. See AFF & Zango and how many webmasters stopped doing business with AFF because of that affiliation.

Hey Retard.....where were you when all this .XXX shit was going down? i will tell ya, not paying attention, if this made some people look and maybe make them aware of how serious this is, well that makes me happy.
Where was I, you ask? I was working behind the scenes and posting letters to try and knock this shit out of the box, in fact i was asked to be on the panel in florida at AVN and was asked not by the .XXX group to be there as part of there deal to be there in the first place..why you ask? Because i would have told them exactly how i felt....FUCK YOU.....
So what is amazing to me is all the 11th hour quarterbacks that would rather come in and call me names, you should just fucking say Thank you....
If you think for one single freakin min i would not post that list you have no idea of who i am and have never met me, those who know me, know i have "BALLS" and i am not afraid to speak my mind anytime anywhere....
So if you have something to say, post it up in the ICANN board and dont be a arm chair board posting troll....
So there ya go....

Hey dig420 or MikeHawk, can you enlighten me about Trademarks and how that would protect us? I saw someone mention something breifly about it in a thread today, but they didn't go into much detail.Amateur ContentICQ: 292 356 077Comment

If you trademark a name it can't be used in competition with you. Meaning ifyou own NikkiLicks.com for an adult site and someone registers NikkiLicks.xxx and uses it for adult purposes you can sue them for infringement. You may also sue them for the name as it .xxx would be intent considering the TLD is designated for adult. "hotornot.com" did this to fend off clone sites when they were popular, and demanded names from owners that held domains like sexyhotornot.com or whatever.Last edited by Cyndalie; 01-27-2007, 02:26 PM.Comment

OK I was way off and read page 2 before 1 DOH...didnt realize Mike started the post. My 2 cents:
MIKE - Dig has big balls as well.
DIG - Mike doesnt mean exactly what he is saying in reference to you.
Bottom line - Mike worked his ass off to shut this down and its back. This deal was done when it first brought up and it is only a matter of time before it just happens. It has its pros and cons. The Net Neutrality laws will make it hard to box us in but in the end think of the possibilities....hmmm...Comment

Nikki_Licks.....File the trade mark, around 1200 bucks, then file the arbitration with ICANN regarding your name up front, not sure on cost for that...we will be talking to Jeffery Douglas who is a very good lawyer for the FSC.......
The more i know our options about .XXX and the more i know how to hurt them by not buying there stupid domains, it does not bother me any more...

If you hold the trademark to the .com, and it's for an adult themed website, by extension you would also hold the trademark to the .xxx
All this is moot anyway, chances are a trademark for bustyamateurboobs would not hold up if it was a website about amateurs with busty boobs. It is too descriptive.Comment

Mike, I wonder if the future Dept of Justice and FBI investigations might ensue and they ask you for your list just in case conspiracy (and FTC-related matters, e.g. icm's rumored .xxx pricing) charges arise if .xxx is passed.
If I were one of the "secret" folks involved with ICM, I'd be sweating future bullets every time the doorbell rang or a black suv pulled up in front (like the ones the FBI 2257 inspectors use?)
Thoughts (Mike and/or anyone?)!???Last edited by davecummings; 01-28-2007, 05:59 PM.Comment

to the best of my knowledge vivid, hustler vp, wicked, ect, no longer believe that parents monitoring their childrens internet activities to prevent them from stumbling upon porn is doing enough.
you can make up your known mind if this means they may be support of XXXComment

my thoughts on once the kids find out about the .xxx it's gonna be a game to see whats on a domain hell they'll probably sit there for hours just typing in shit to see whats on the website. Kids are not stupid once they figure it out it's pointless anyways.
But the real reason is money

I have thought the same thing several times over since day one of this issue. Kids aren't stupid and it's the parents job to filter access to adult site in the home, which can be very easily done without technical knowlege and with a little common sense.my thoughts on once the kids find out about the .xxx it's gonna be a game to see whats on a domain hell they'll probably sit there for hours just typing in shit to see whats on the website. the reality of .xxx will be a lot of money for lawyers.
We will certainly not give up our .coms and would just a certainly sue the shit out of anyone registering a .xxx version of our business.I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.Comment
