Whether they like it or not. To call it torture is silly folks. Ever tried to give a cat a bath by hand? Good chance of getting your arms sliced up by their claws. This method would be quicker and less chance of a cat getting thrown across the room after it scratches someone. lol You guys act like they dropped the thing in acid. lol. I assure you most cats get much more scared by a dog chasing them. Ever let your cats outside? Silly. I bet they have these installed in gitmo too. ITS WATER!! Warm water, not hot or scalding.
