For me one of the hardest and coolest was the same job... When I was a teenager I worked in a haunted house 2 Halloweens in a row. It starts up a month or so before and ends at Halloween, which is right around the time the weather starts going wacky in TX, so the first couple of weeks, it would be so fucking hot, in the costumes and everything, then the next couple of weeks you'd freeze. It was pretty hard work and physically demanding. You are constantly moving from one hiding spot to another, or following people in secret passages to "get the scare" and then you have to make it back to a certain place to catch the next group. It's a good work out! I don't think I've ever been so tired at the end of a work day.
Mentally it was interesting as well. You can usually see a group before they come so you plan out each scare and time it just right and choose the best way of scaring each person based on where you are and what props you have in the room with you. You also have to learn how to basically navigate the entire lay out of the structure with your eyes closed. You have to know the fastest way from every point A to every point B, and do it all without letting anyone see you! It's a lot of fun but a lot of hard work.
