actually you need to know Jason Graham to understand him. His nickname is Preacher. After breaking up a fight he'd drag them back to his office and preach Jesus crap at the combatants. He didn't like hurting people. Very religious. I have no idea why he liked the nightclub scene but he was a total family man and never cheated on his wife. I asked him many times why he didn't go pro, he told me he didn't like the idea of getting paid to hurt people as a spectator sport. Didn't make sense to me as he did it as a bouncer, but as a bounder he felt he was protecting people. I was able to hire him as I had him on a deal where he was slowly buying shares into the business. He also said the boxing came from him being bounced around foster homes as a kid and being abused. He came to the realization one day to just stop that way of things and he said it was getting harder and harder for find anyone willing to fight him as he was undefeated.

ummm.... no. Amateurs don't have to 'find' anyone to fight them. They fight in tournaments, such as the Golden Gloves, Pan Ams, the Olympics. All they have to do is enter. And he would be on the web.

Because in boxing circles, amateurs who are that badass are damn near as well known as professional fighters, and the ONLY reason I've ever heard of them not turning pro is because of injury.

Ok, doing that stuff in a training video works, but how about some practical examples? I knew a guy who was studied martial arts for years, won tournaments, etc -- he was generally thought of as a badass. I finally saw him get in a fight(he tried to avoid it), and it did not go too well. He missed a roundhouse attempt, fell down twice and twisted his ankle. He won the fight, but it wasn't pretty.

It doesn't work. When you see people reaching out superfast and kind of slappy quick positioning someone's body to take a fall, you know right away it's bullshido aka fake. In real life, a resisting opponent - especially an aggressive, violent man, which is generally the type who's going to start a fight with a stranger - isn't that easy to turn. The first thing he's going to do as soon as you reach out for him is take a step back and start throwing bombs on your ass. That's why you don't see this kung fooey stuff in MMA.
BJJ fighters, when they want to take you down, dive bomb your legs like a wrestler, wrap them with both arms and twist and pull you to the ground. Or they bear hug you then trip you. If you want to control a man or bring him to the ground, you have to grab his ass hardcore and absolutely commit to it, not slap him on the shoulder thinking that's going to make him do a 180 so you can punch that pressure point on the back of his neck lol
It's always amazing to me that even after the early UFC, basically a come one come all bare knuckles match, people still want to believe in this ninja stuff.Comment
