It's true that this practice has been going on for a long time, although not all Moslems subscribe to it; The Shia (or at least some of them) believe it's permissible, but the Sunnis don't.

Forget the usual cliched attempts at Muslim "anti". Only 90 mins flying time from US borders there was an elected leader who had a liking for the company of young girls (ie you name it - 13 upwards).

The laws of that country were then quietly changed to lower the age of consent to allow him to remain "legal".

It was amusing attending his funeral with the usual state dignitories, his wife and family members - and the thing that stood out most were the numbers of relatively young ladies who stood by and weeped But... he was a well-respected individual....

The laws have since been changed back to a more respectable age...
