Dude, that's what insurance is for. JUST IN CASE. I'm in my 20s and don't plan on dying anytime soon, but I've got a life insurance policy JUST IN CASE.

How will donations help her replace the things that money can't?Ya know, FUCK all the people that say INSURANCE. Yes, insurance can pay for many things... if you have it. What about the things you can't replace with money? Losing everything you have not only hurts your pockets but your spirit. How do you put insurance on your entire life? I'd like to see everyone on GFY have to start all over, from stratch.
I'll give her all the moral support she needs. But that's not what this thread is asking for.

I knew most GFYers would react coldly. But I thought there might be people that worked with her or admired her work that would want to help.
I've been helped when I needed it.
I've helped others.
But I do my best never to be cruel or rude to people because they are in need...regardless whose fault their situation is.
In fact, on the way home from the airport, I handed some old granola bars to a guy at the offramp. (I buy expired ones at the swap meet to give to homeless.)
He asked if I had any blankets.
I looked at his dirty face and remembered how cold its been.
So as the light went green, I was outside of my car, pulling an old airline blanket from the trunk of my car to give to him.
It's fine if you don't want to give him food, money, or clothes. But I bet some of you are the same types who were honking at me for holding them up. As if the delay they experienced was somehow more painful than the night this guy has ahead of him. Blows my mind sometimes.
Good shit bro - I have never met Dana but i sent her a donation - be cool folks and help a friend in need. If you don't help that's fine but don't preach about insurance - people caught in hurricane Katrina had insurance but the state farm, allstate, and all the others figured out a way to get out of it instead of paying up - I doubt many of you have ever really sat and read an insurance contract front to back whether it's health or home - I actually worked for FEMA answering phones in Texas after Hurricane Andrew and the San Fran Earthquake - people need help sometimes.Comment

My comment was not directed at you - it was directed at the person who posted the heartless comment. Yes, we see them everyday (charity posts), doesn't mean it gives someone the right to be an ass. Didn't our parents teach us "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all." Additonally, there are lots of people here who post just to post and say things that are totally uncalled for we all know that.
And certainly some people here will know her, as I do.
if you cant handle it then move to another board. this is GFY. I feel sorry for the girl, but insurance is a small thing to do. So it still stands, get your shit in order.Don't let greediness blur your vision | You gotta let some shit slide

Ok..Im gonna post...Long story short. My apt had burned to the ground Feb 15, last year. I lost EVERYTHING...I mean everything, 2 jetskis, 2 quads, trailers, pc's, home theatre shit, a very valuable arsonal of weapons...EVERYTHING...about 200K worth of shit. I had quite the amount of cash that also burned up(bullshit, firemen robbed me)..I had ins. They declined my claim because it was an illegal apt.(i didnt know) I tried to sue the owner, he disappeared, no where to be found, just disappeared.
Moral of the srory is ins sometimes isnt the safety net it appears to be. I wish her the best, I still havent recovered.

..and a whole lot of silence.
In any case hope she gets stuff squared away, and glad she wasn't there to get hurt. Fires always suck. Thankfully most things can be replaced.

I seo'd my hair yesterday and today it's pr7!
