Financially it makes a LOT of sense if you know the difference between a GREAT domain and one that is worthless. Type ins are far from overrated. They convert very well. Buying a solid domain is like buying an annuity. It pays off and keeps paying. The only ego stroking is in your bank account. When you can buy a domain like porn.com and get it paid off in 5 or 6 years, that is a great investment.
