Yes Franck, I am serious. He is on a shared plan at 1and1. Their highest shared plan is 10 dollars a month. You can view it on whois.sc and it will tell you that his site is shared with nearly 400 other domanis.

So what happens if one of your affiliates gets you up on a major TGP? What happens if someone decides to push you real hard? You offer 90 percent for those who can send a lot of joins, but your host will never be able to handle that kind of traffic. Why are you having $150 gallery contests when you should be spending your money on regular design and hosting?

It looks to me like you woke up one day and said hey, if I build a program Ill be accepted on GFY and part of the elite crowd. Ill do contests and promos and all that other fun stuff and look like a player. Its more important to look cool and have a gallery contest than to put your sites on a real host. Its more important to play around pretending to be a program owner on GFY than it is to buy a simple design for your site.

Seriously man, get your priorities straight. If you did somehow get affiliates, youd be fucking them over the minute they sent any major traffic to your sites.

Shared hosts that blatantly oversell, like 1&1 and Dreamhost, are notorious for suspending/cancelling accounts that go anywhere near their bandwith limits.

Like or not, Common Sense has a point. His TGP example is excellent, but here's another example. Imagine someone who has a vendetta against you starts hitbotting or hotlinking your site. Your host will shut you down in an instant. Pretty shitty thing to happen to you and your affiliates.

they do have a point - if an affiliate does decide to start driving traffic to it you will get shut down or have to move if your on a shared box. it will save you headaches in the long run to get your own box.

You do have a way with words that surely will get you a bunch of new affiliates... I have no idea why I'm doing this, you clearly don't listen to good advice, but I will give you some pointers you REALLY should read.

I DO remember exactly where we came from. We started our first paysite after years of reading, trying and listening to advice from other people. We had no big company backing us financially, everything we have today comes from earning money in this biz via our own sites. Been doing TGPs and galleries for a while to build up our own traffic first.

If you don't have your own traffic source, it's going to be damn hard to make a profitable paysite. Affiliates send traffic to sites that they believe in, and to be honest, your stuff isn't really up to par with today's standards.

Before you make threads like this, make sure you have everything up and running. How will a serious designer be able to make you a gallery if he/she doesn't even know how the paysite will look like? You need a gallery that will have the same feel as the site itself.

You can bash me as much as you want later, and use all the dirty words you can think of, but PLEASE read this list first:

* LISTEN to what people are telling you. Most of them don't hate you, they are trying to help you because they feel sorry for you.

* GET HOSTING. If I had been in a bad mood I'd IMG SRC your sorry little sites off the internet just for calling me a cunt. Next time you say something stupid to a person you might not be this lucky.

* HIRE A DESIGNER. Your design sucks. There's a reason everybody in this thread keep telling you this, it's because it's true. Not just this site, but all your sites. If you can't afford a designer right away, don't offer $150 in contest prices.

* WORK. Make your sites ready before you post anything more about them. Be sure to wait until VISA aproves you and stuff like that. A potential affiliate who checks out the site won't know that VISA is looking at the site, he'll just notice no VISA and then move on.

* GROW UP and work on your manners. Try being humble instead to the people who try to help you. Remember, you need affiliates to make money, and what might have worked for Pimpdogg in 2002 is not working for you today.

Read this, do as I say, and one day you too might have a very profitable program...

So, let's recap here..
If it is my goal to have paysites with program, how else will I learn certain aspects & find faults & flaws if I am not actually DOING it?

Nobody is going to just GIVE me all the answers here & often one may ask certain things & answers never come & it's often speculation, however, I decided to do it & use it as a learning tool.

Sure there's no big bandwagon jumping on to send me traffic, but guess what, there are some & it is selling & it is manageable with what I have & as things are discovered or pointed out, it will be corrected.

Also, bear in mind that there's many questions that one might not have even considered & new things are pointed out that I may have overlooked.

I'd rather take the risk right now with a self built start up with minimal investment & make adjustments as flaws are found & LEARN the right things to do than go all out with a riskier investment only to find out afterwards that it was wrong. I will build this & learn as I go & make it work. No ifs ands or buts!!

Let's put it another way. I am not no big program or traffic giant with sizable cash flow who can go all out with 100k & outsource all the work to everyone else & get it all done at once. I am a regular webmaster like most, who has only been an affiliate of others, working & learning more & continually adapting & improving. I wanted to do this & I will continue with this, but I am doing it with the tools & resources available to me at the moment & making my best effort here and it WILL work.

Let's have a look at this way..

Say you're at a meeting at an advertising agency..
There's a room full of ad execs, designers, copyrighters, etc..
One of the ad execs is giving a presentation.. let's assume his presentation is fucking horrible..

Do you really think all the other execs are going to be sitting there pointing their fingers at him going "haha, you're a fuckin moron" "OMG what an idiot" "Your shit sucks" "Get a fucking real job", lol..

Give me a fucking break here.. I don't get on the defensive & arrogrant when people provide feedback, I get arrogant & defensive in regards to the methods of how the feedback is presented. I prefer it to be in a professional & business like manner where it can be constructive as well as educational & i can then take those points & apply them, but because of the manner people choose to use to make themselves feel bigger, to make themselves feel more important, to get their sigwhore views, or to just piss on people, my arrogance comes out only towards them.


It is far different & has extremely different effects when one simply comes out & says, "that design looks horrible? You should get a new design" than when someone comes out & says, "Jesus, look at this, what a fucking idiot, you're so fucking stupid" etc, etc..

Where with the first example it then becomes a discussion with possible followup such as, "I know it sucks & a new design is being worked on", or "well, what specifically sucks about it" or any other manner of constructive feedback & discussion, however, with the latter it becomes more of an offensive commited by a few against one left to fight off & defend & gets ugly thereafter.

Meanwhile, while the manner of discussion & presentation of feedback is certainly ugly, valid points are taken into account & suggestions are applied, however, gfy being as it is, this seems to be the only way to ever get feedback period.

In regards to your "stop posting, start working, stop burning bridges", you are wrong. because of posts that go wrong like this, new fucking bridges are opened that allow more business to get done.

When that Visa discussion got ugly & out of hand, the thread you specified, that opened more bridges & I now have a partner working with me, making this venture a team effort rather than an individual one. It has also opened the doors to other revenue streams for this project that I was not aware of previous to those discussions.

Spacedog what is the point of making galleries when the site design is not up?
Now I know I cant help you because you will not listen.
Galleries need to be as close as posable to the paysite design so when the surfer clicks from your gallery he finds what he is expecting more of same he clicked because he liked what he saw and wants more.
To run a contest corectly you should zip folders of content online and easy to download. You should have some psp files of your FINISHED design ziped so they can be downloaded as well.
Why would I spend a few hours and make a kick ass gallery template when I cant take you seriuosly
