We can differ on Christmas and that is fine. I have no issue if someone believes that Jesus walked the Earth, was the son of God, or if people feel he was just another man. My only issue with it on the list is that it is a Federal Holiday and I feel the Federal Government should not at any time for any reason recognise, endorse, pay homage to, or stop doing its duty for any holiday based on anyone's religion or lack thereof one. Even if it did effect so much in the world. Many religious figures have and everyone will admit that. So none of them deserve a holiday. Celebrate those on your own time and at your own costs. If private business wishes to acknowledge it that is fine though.Comment

It would have to be in either June or August, since it's summertime, and neither currently has a National holdiday.
Hedonist Day it could be called - A Day to Celebrate Pleasure...
The day would be marked with orgies for the adults and ice cream parties for the kids.
Another option is "Make the Government Work for Us" Day, in which only government and bank employees have to work - the rest of us could kick it, watch our taxes at work, or we could make fun of them or something.

Arizona was one of the last states to adopt the MLK day and they did not do it voluntarily. The state of Arizona was basically told that if we did not recognise the MLK day we would not have a super bowl or a stadium and that all African American conventions would be held elsewhere.
Personally, I dont care what holiday it is. Its just another day off for me
