Although I'm quite aware of Google's awesomeness, I believe this will take some time to catch on, if it does at all.
Look at Google Wave, for example. I got my invite in the first batch of tech offerings, but I can literally count the number of times that I've logged into it. They lured many techies to the Google Wave interface with their demo, but many, including myself, were quite disappointed that the majority of cool features were and still are only accessible in the sandbox.
They might have money and the resources, but they're too late, in my opinion.
I never liked MySpace, but yet love Facebook and Twitter.
Unless they provide some way of porting over established relationships that have been built over twitter and facebook (and the ease of use), Google buzz will be average at best.
And that's coming from a Google fan.
