I got 8 shots of novocaine when they pulled my wisdom teeth because the quack I went to had something against gas or putting people under. Two of them were surgical extractions.
I couldn't feel a thing, but holy fuck was it brutal. At one point a nurse was holding my head down one way while the doc was yanking the other with a giant pair of stainless steel toothy pliers. Instead of coming out, the tooth just explodes under the pressure.
So then he goes to his drawer and retrives a hammer and chisel.. looked like a stainless steel version of Black & Decker.. and starts hammering away to get the rest out of my jaw.
I was alright, but doing surgical extractions without gas or full anasthesia is borderline malpractice imo.
