The govt loves the fact that people will fight for their side whether they are right or wrong. it keeps the people focused on the wrong thing.
if you polled a majority of this country, they choose and defend a side without even knowing what the issues are about...

The problem with representative government is that the candidates are funded by special interests on both sides. The regular people they are supposed to work for are lost and forgotten.
If the "tea party" movement was all-inclusive, as opposed to a right leaning, racist leaning gang, then maybe it could of grown big enough to mount a fight. Unfortunately even these type of groups are quickly purchased by their own prejudices and special interests.
