Jobs just left open a huge gap for someone to fill and beat the iPad.
No multi-tasking is huge IMO. Archos may not be the device that challenges the iPad, but it certainly shows the developmental possibility of easily surpassing iPad's shortcomings.
Take the Lenovo U1. If they just sold the tablet portion, no hybrid connectivity to make it a full laptop, I'm sure they could easily challenge the iPad price-point. Plus when you get up to the 64GB version of iPad at $849, you're very close to the touted pricepoint of the full U1.
The iPad is still going to sell millions, don't get me wrong. I just feel that Apple lost out on many sales by not delivering a few things people had hoped for and will look elsewhere.
