    So what's the current deal/hassle with what you can bring on a plane?

    I haven't had to deal with it for a while. Is the bottled water thing an issue? Will they throw away my trail mix? Matches? fucking lipstick? Nicotine gum?

              1 x 1 x 1 rule in Europe for carry-on luggage, NO such checks I went thriugvh so far here in US.

              liquids/gels in 100ml containers in 1 resealable plastic bag no more than 1 litre total.

              You can do the conversions yourself.

                  Basically you can't bring anything these days. i think you even need to put any liquids like shampoo, etc in a smaller container like Deej mentioned. I'm sure lipstick and trailmix would be fine.

                      Bullshit.

                      Most even allow duty free liquid purchases again now, and even bottles of water.

                      Just in Europe the liquid/gel stuff applies.

                      I flew into Europe on the 28th Dec and then into the USA and internally on the 2nd January.

                                      Any liquids (gels, mascara, chapstick, lotion, etc) over 3oz or NOT in a plastic bag. You know, considering how one cannot open a ziplock in an airplane, it's for YOUR safety.

                                                          All liquids must be 100ml or less, you can buy water or any other liquids once you clear security and take it with you but not before. So buy your bottled water once you clear security. Any liquids you bring before security does have to be put into a clear ziplock bag for screening.
