Nope, running windows 7 ultimate on this pc, just built a new pc, was either going to get it from bestbuy or from ms' site.

save about 40$, but bestbuy you actuall get a box.

I got it from the site. Works fine. Just burn a backup right when you get it. Ultimate vs. Pro, there isn't a significant difference, so unless you need multi-language support, or bitlocker, I'd recommend Pro.

when you buy from MS i think you can retrieve your iso or s/n from them whenever you need within few years

Got mine in the store, pretty black rounded-corner box foolproof syllable-limited manual and everything...kinda needed Windows to connect to their site otherwise I'd have paid less & downloaded the bitch.

Bought from the site. I don't need any extra boxes of shit lying around, and I burned a backup copy in case my PC gets hit by a nuke.

got the Ultimate upgrade version for Christmas. Was about to return it for the full install when I decided to try it anyway... performed a clean install over the RC which wasn't supposed to work.. but it did. Save yourself the extra $100 and don't buy the full installation.. for those of you still looking into it.

There's a hack online as well, just in case you are prompted about not having the right version, do a little searching.

I did the same, MS was running a deal where if you had a .edu email you could get it at a student discount of 29.99. It was a download of the .exe and for another $13 they send you a disc, home or pro

i bought the upgrade from the ms site, no probs. i did a clean full install by simply installing the upgrade as a full version, then installing it again as an upgrade, then input serial #.
