Blackberries playing video is a matter of how current the operating system is. The older 4.2 which is common on most Curve 8310's does not play video. If you were tech savvy, you could upgrade the 8310 to a more current version that could play video, but it didn't come that way out of the box.

The problem is that there's this power-struggle between the carriers and Research In Motion when new OS's are released... AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all have different testing requirements and the builds are customized specifically with the carriers needs and desires in mind. Research In Motion might make an operating system available with some great new features, but the carrier will refuse to release it until they do their testing which they never seem to expedite. That's why you see so many compatibility issues...

The 8330 should be able to play video with the current 4.5 OS.

My Bold 9000 has the 4.6.0.297 OS. All fairly recent Blackberries should also be able to play video.
