Actually, we probably wouldn't have "won", only because there wouldn't be much fighting. The presence of the US troops is by far the single largest cause of violence in Iraq, IMHO. (no, they aren't the ones committing violent acts, but their presence is creating the circumstances by which acts occur). -

American forces took Montreal and the chain of forts in the Richelieu Valley, but attempts by the revolutionaries to take Québec were repelled. During this time most French Canadians stayed neutral. The revolutionaries' failure to achieve success in these areas, and the continuing allegiance to Britain of some colonists, resulted in the split of Britain's North American empire. Many Americans who remained loyal to the Crown, known as the United Empire Loyalists, moved north, greatly expanding the English-speaking population. The independent republic of the United States emerged to the south, while a series of loyal British colonies remained in place along its northern border. The remaining British colonies were collectively referred to as British North America.
Research a bit more there guy. You'll soon realize that you have lost wars. Don't get all cocky...realize that your prime minister was to much of a pussy to have anything to do with helping another country (Iraq) re-gain control of their own country.Comment

First sentence - Could not be farther from the truth - around 80% of Iraq people don't want US troops in Iraq.
Second sentence - True and the reason they have been fighting long before the US was ever heard of, is the reason they will be there long after the US has gone.
There is something to be said about having troops from another nation in Iraq, especially non-US troops. There was never much love lost between the Middle East and the US, especially after an abominable track record - and the "anti" is now up even higher - not just in Iraq. But.... doubt "independent" troops would be much use now - the damage is irrecoverable and destined to complete failure. The US started the shit - let em clean it up.XXX TLD's - Another mosquito to swat.Comment

Yep, only Iraqis kill Iraqis ....Report: Marines Killed Unarmed Iraqis
January 6, 2007 11:43 a.m. EST
Nicole King - AHN Staff Writer
Washington, DC (AHN) - A new report says the leader of a Marine squad shot five unarmed Iraqi civilians in retaliation for casualties the squad suffered during a roadside bomb. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service released a report on the 2005 deaths in Haditha.
The report contains the details of an eyewitness account which says a taxi came upon the scene not long after the explosion. The Marine squad leader ordered the men out of the car.
The report contains hundreds of interviews and concludes that the Marine leader shot the five men, while another Marine reportedly fired shots into their bodies and later urinated on them. After that, the squad then raided houses and used both grenades and guns to kill 14 people in 10 minutes, CNN news reported Saturday.
Four Marines have been charged in the deaths of 24 Iraqis who were killed right after the bombing. The victims included women and children. The roadside bomb killed one Marine and injured two others. Four other Marines have been charged by the Marine Corps with failing to report the deaths.
Attorneys for the Marines' say they were doing what they were trained to do and the shootings were not an act of revenge, The Washington Post reported, according to CNN news.
