    Nexus One

How long before google gets OUT of the cell phone business and sticks to making the OS for cell phones? Android sales for week 1 are estimated at 20,000 units. For each Nexus One phone sold 80 people buy an iPhone.

"If the Nexus One is any good, why would you buy anything else?" says Edward J. Zander, Motorola's former CEO, who is surprised Google would go so far as to enter the hardware fray. "At least Microsoft never built PCs."

I got my Google phone because I'm more anti At&T than anything. I have nothing against Apple, but my Droid phone feels like the only phone I'll ever need.

My buddy got one of these the other week, and blethered on about how much better it was than the iphone etc etc etc at great length while we were in a bar.

I took one look around the bar and saw about 10 people on their iphones...

The iPhone hype is really strong.

However, I got my hands on an EU Nexus One, it has multi-touch.

Seriously, the first phone BETTER than the iPhone. First in 3 years.

I really love my G1, but I guess it's almost obsolete now.

I really dig having a physical keyboard, I like the G1 miles above the blackberry as an all in one device. Kinda bummed that none of the newer droid phones are offering this

            What makes it better?

Every review I have read says it's really good, but not quite there.

What do YOU think makes it better?

I have had my Droid for a while now and I have to say that it is by far the best phone I have ever owned or used. I have tried out iPhones and loved them until I owned the Droid. So much better.

As far as the speed and capability of the phone, Nexus One.

As far as the networks it can run on and their capabilities, Nexus One.

As far as real world applications available now, iPhone.

You can watch football on an iPhone. Cannot do that on a Nexus One yet. However, you cannot watch it in a crowded area as the 3G on AT&T gets clobbered. So using it to watch a game in a 80 story building in downtown LA filled with iPhone owners = disaster. Especially if there are a group of other 80 story buildings around you.

Three years from now? Android is going to take over.

As for real functionality in my line of work, Android. The iPhone doesn't even have many of the apps available in its market because they won't approve them.

In other less technical professions like lawyers, iPhone. They simply have more apps... again... 3 years from now? Android.
