Compare it: BMW M3 vs Porsche Carrera

I already know one former Carrera owner who traded his in for an M3

let's just give this a whirl.

Overall satisfaction.

The porsche might just be a hair faster, but that ol m3 just chuggs along. Roadfeel, braking, acceleration, drivability, ALL OF IT YO!

like I said drive one then the other ... A guy I used to work with has some ferraris and after going for a ride in an m3 he put in an order for one

personally ... this is nearly as good as sex ... blissful. I say fuck it. every carrera driver i've seen on the road is a fucking pussy. if buying a carrera turns you into a twat I don't want one either.

NO comparison. Porsche pisses all over everything BMW could ever dream of. I own a Porsche 911 Turbo and the BMW is a hairdressers car.

The M3 fits your golf clubs and a friend. Carrera does not. I love the Porsche. Wanted one my whole life but it is more of a toy as you can get nothing in it with you. I bought the M3 convertible and love it.

The M3 is a great car.I had a 2003M3smg for nearly 3 years at the same time I had multiple Porsche 911's.The M3 is easily as fast as the C2,but a good driver will drive the 911 faster through the curves.

- can fit 4 people comfortably
- great trunk space
- less of a target for theft
- quick as the porsche

Carrera
- can fit 2 people and a dufflebag in the backseat
- trunk space for about 3 bags of groceries
- great stigma, people always price porches wrong in their mind, girls think
they are worth 200k, thus = pussy machine.

I cant say many bad things about either, because I have both. I see the m3 as the daily driver and the other as the fuck around car.

I have to say my first drive of the e46 M3 surprised the fuck out of me... However after test driving a C2 996 the bimmer lost its appeal Straight line acceleration is similar but the Porsche still clinches (ass dyno at work)

IMO if you're coming in here with the "4 seats" or "bigger trunk" arguments, you're in the wrong thread talking about the wrong type of car. I'm sure Chrysler has a section on their website where you can discuss what minivan best suits your wife and 8 kids

the carrera is the entry level model into the 911 class. Sort of a white belt if you will. 911 twin turbo, is the black belt.

I prefer the Porsche to an M3, however I have not driven a new M3. But the M3 to me just doesnt seem like a mans car. Maybe like a young asian guys car, thats all I see driving them around here.
