First let me say THANKS to AVN for even mentioning my name along with the Internet Pioneer Hall of Fame Award. I am honored to even be considered for such a prestigious award. I am SO sorry that I could not attend this year but I had a previous commitment with my son that I just couldn't, in good conscious, skip. Thanks, Chris, and the whole AVN team.
Now, to all of the award haters let me say this.....I, personally, would never try to host any kind of awards show for this very reason. This industry is CHOCK FULL of deserving people that deserve to get awards. I could name at least 20 people that could have won any of those awards and I am glad that I didn't have to be the one that decided. As for advertising, look at any AVN Magazine over the past year and you will not find one single ad for NationalNet (or any of my affiliated companies). Walk around the show floor in Vegas this week and you won't see a single NationalNet sign either. Is it because I think it is not worth it? Absolutely not. It is simple economics in that we are concentrating our marketing efforts in the mainstream world in 2009 and 2010 and they already know that so giving me an award can not possibly get them anymore business.
Congrats to the winners, the nominees, and the ones that deserved to be both but got missed! ;)
