Please Explain This To Me ...Use of the word "FEEDS"

Ok is it me, something i have never got: The use of the word in selling the surfer : REALITY FEEDS...OR LESBIAN FEEDS...ETC.

The word "feed" has not a thing to do with "movie" or "porn"....so why? I think its more a word that is used in the "behind the scenes" part of speaking about our biz, not as a selling point for a surfer..."feed" wtf is a feed...so i looked it up.

Definitions of feed on the Web:

* provide as food; "Feed the guests the nuts"
* give food to; "Feed the starving children in India"; "don't give the child this tough meat"
* feed into; supply; "Her success feeds her vanity"
* introduce continuously; "feed carrots into a food processor"

There are phrases/words I would never present to the surfer. Pic(s) tops the list, and feeds would have to rank up there.

i guess its something that was picked up from mainstream television (i.e satellite feed, etc) but I think now adays its more just a B2B term within our industry to represent a set of streaming or digitally delivered content

The term feed has become pretty common place, especially among the more savvy surfers used to news feeds, sports feeds, whatever. It's a regularly updated "list" of the newest porn available. Shit, most browsers now have the ability to add feeds from sites that offer them.

If you were a surfer wouldn't you want the latest feed of Raven Riley's newest content(for ex.)?

Don't talk to them like "they know" the porn business ... tantalize them with words that get them horny!

Describe the content not as a feed or "plug-in" ... tell them what they'll see

To be honest, when I write, I write as much for the SE as I do the surfer, so I am going to use a lot hotter, keyword rich text than "the latest feed of Raven Riley's newest content."

Not to mention, feeds can refer to so many different things these days its confusing. I catch myself sometimes posting about video feeds, in threads that were actually about RSS Feeds, and vice versa. Always caught myself, but i'm bound to slip up sooner or later:P
