Can you have one drink and then stop?

actually, I have a hard time stopping once I get a drink in me and I know the alcohol won't run out. It's a problem and I'm aware of it. lol

I can have just one and stop for the evening, but there's no way i can have 2or 3 and then not wanting more... I hate that edgy feeling where you're in between feeling happy and just heavy by the booze, it has to be none or the full feeling.

No. Its either all or nothing. If I cant go for broke , I wont even have one.
Its especially hard living in Vegas, no one ever sends you home, and there is always some skanky whore to drink with.

I am an alcoholic, and I am here to tell you, if you seriously answered "yes" to this question, you have a problem. Non-alcoholics have no problem stopping after one drink. In fact, three drinks will make them sick as a dog.

People used to admire how I could hold my booze and drink anyone under the table, but the joke was on me. If you are that person, you have problem.

I'm an ex-smoker, too, but I'm holding on to my sex addiction. That one is doing me some good in my current line of work!

There is one trick how to go out and drink one beer only:by taking enough money for one beer only.Also that trick is good for prevent buying food when i am outside.

totally depends where I am and what the plans are. It's not hard having just one if I'm out for dinner etc. If I'm at home watching a game or movie I usually have a few beers or mixes.

I don't usually drink at all, but if I do, the most I tend to have is 3 anyway... so stopping at one is no problem.

I can stop after one no problem.
I don't drink so I know if I have more then one chances are I will feel it the next day.

How does not getting full on sauced and having personal restraint equate to being boring? Many people are very entertaining non drunk, and many that drink and think they are not boring or out right obnoxious may need a wake up call.
