    Question for hardware geeks (laptop)

    Hey guys...

My 3yo sprayed some window cleaner on my laptop a few months ago... after that, nothing would show up on the screen.. although pc runs fine using an external display..

On the laptop screen, i can see stuff but it's veryyyyyyyyyy dark .. like if the backlit was fucked up..

    - I replaced the screen -> same issue
    - I replaced the inverter -> same issue
    - I replaced the lcd cable -> same issue

The board seems fine, don't think the glass cleaner even got to it...

I saw a bunch of threads on the net telling to remove the battery and hold the power button for like, 60sec... Tried that, nothing....

If it was a < 1000$ laptop, i wouldn't give a fuck but the damn thing cost me around 3k$...

    Any ideas?

Yikes. Sounds like liquid possibly got down inside somehow, possibly through the keyboard. You could look up a new board on Ebay, but.... they're tricky to replace, I've heard.

Yeah that's what i fear too... but replacing a laptop mobo scares me.. i always end up with a few screws extra after everything's back in place haha
