Ignore the people who don't know shit about domaining. People are paying up to 14 years of revenue nowadays (yes 14 years). So people saying 7 years is too much need to buy a clue and get out of a thread they have no business in.

You should be careful posting such (mis)information, some here will think they can now overvalue their worthless domains. 14 years earnings would only be paid if the buyer believes current monetisation techniques are inefficient and far from optimal, or if the particular domain will attract more attention in the future, for whatever reason. Hell, I can pay 100 years earnings for a financial type-in domain name that is only monetised through a bible affiliate program... It would be ludicrous to pay 14 years earnings for an asset with the risk profile of a domain, without expecting a better ROI, when there are plenty of widely used low-risk investment strategies available that will outperform your domain at any time!Comment

one of my good adult domains, getting almost 400 uniques daily was making 20 euros daily (so about $25) for a while on Sedo and I considered it VERY GOOD
then the Sedo earnings dropped 400% (!) 3 weeks ago and I moved it elsewhere and I just checked, yesterday it only made $7 on TrafficValet :/

Well, that depends. If you are able to get paid more for the traffic, then all bets are off. You might be able to make all your money back in 1 year and swim in profit from then on.
You see, I might not be very efficient at making money off of the traffic for this domain name. Someone else (out there) might be able to make twice as much as I can using ppc. Others might run a site where they make 100% of the profit earned from the traffic (as opposed to a small % for sales leads and ppc). And yet, others may have the absolute perfect product to match with the traffic of a domain name and they can have 100% of the profit earned from the traffic, and for this company, they are able to make double what the other company made (at 100% profit) because their product is absolutely perfect for this traffic. It all depends on the investors situation and ability to make money off the traffic.
Some people know a great domain name when they see one and don't mind investing without the promise of instant break even. Also, there is no real reason to sell a nice domain name unless you have a good reason. Someone willing to offer enough money is usually a good reason.
Domain values are only increasing over time. The value of domain traffic is also increasing over time. That is why most aren't "trying" to sell domain names, but make them available to be purchased.
