So I disagree  Console shooters are also designed for the pad. So they feel perfectly good. Especially Modern Warfare. I have a Wii, Xbox360 and a PS3.... and the PS3 is by FAR my favorite console of the three ... with the Wii coming in second!

I'm mostly talking about using the thumb as an aiming tool. It's not possible for the thumb to make the fast micro adjustments necessary to get quick accurate shots.
I've been an FPS PC gamer for a long time, and any that I've played on the PS3 have been agonizing. I've given it more than enough time and actually played quite a few, because maybe they weren't available on the PC.
There is a huge difference in aiming ability. The travel distance of the analog stick requires the thumb to be able to teeter on top of the stick in ways that just can't match an arm controlling a mouse.
That said, third person games are the best on console, and I wouldn't want to play it any other way.
