Lets play devils advocate for a second here. Lets say you were picked up in the sweep, you really did'nt have a lot to do with the extermists, but were painted with the same brush.
They torture you, subject you to inhumane treatment, to try and make you confess. In the end they realise, hey you're not really worth bothering with, because you're a nobody.
So you get released, but are you going to forget the treatment you just received ? All those months, the only thing that may have kept you going, is the thought of revenge, if you ever get out of the shithole.
If you were borderline before your detention, you sure are'nt afterwards, you're a sworn enemy of the state. Something to think about
