My mother has an autographed Johnny Cash 45

And she can't find it. She thinks she gave it to one of us, but we don't have it. Her only other thought is that it's in the attic. Of her house. IN FLORIDA. Yeah, vinyl holds up real well in 180+ degree weather summer after summer for 30 years, Mother.

Let me also add that my cousing and I BOTH had autographed pictures of David Cassidy which we've lost

Somehow, I think the Johnny Cash 45 MIGHT be worth more

I'm beginning to understand the concept of spending TOO much time with family

I also found out my grandfather and another man wanted to go in with Truett Cathy when he started Chik-fil-A but Mr. Cathy wanted to keep it in the family. Decades later (and this I knew about) he bought my grandfather's farm and turned it into a tacky tourist trap:

              http://www.therockranch.com

My mother and aunt sold it to him at a VERY discounted rate with the understanding he would make it into a place for underpriveledged city kids to experience "country living". He did that for a while, but I guess it wasn't bringing in the money he wanted

that ranch looks cool its a pity the guy never kept his word. You can spend too much family time and this is the time of year when you realize it, Go for a break yourself or with a friend and you'll come back fine

It was a GREAT place to grow up. We had our own little house there (the one he's renting out now, lol) and my Grandparents and Aunt/Uncle/Cousins lived there fulltime.

Lots of great memories spent there. It was my grandfather's "retirement" property. He had an office there but I swear the only thing we can find that he actually did BUSINESS with are the gin rummy sheets with the name of the farm on them He was good at hiring help ....

He never would drive a truck and bought a new big assed Lincoln every 2 years and you'd see him driving that thing at breakneck speed across the fields to "check" the cows. I have a feeling the pint of whiskey he always had in the glove compartment had a lot to do with those rides He was an interesting character.

Doubtful since I already explained in another thread that my family hates Carter. I love it that you made an ID just to post to me about the fact that Carter has a house in the same subdivision I do.

I keep hoping! There's nothing that would make me happier than the folks here at GFY thinking I know rich people.
