Fire him now! Quick story. I bought a very old house that was 70% restored when the previous owner went BK. I hired a handyman for $20 an hour that had amazing talent for this kind of thing. 2 months into the job I even asked him why he does not run his own company due to the great work he did. He explained he's been sober for 6 years and used meth for 20 years and had a felony record. Anyway, he had some problems at home and got back on that shit. In 3 months I watched him lose 45 pounds and everything he owned. He truly went crazy seeing imaginary things and his work went to pure shit plus he sold his rig and all his tools. A great guy, but I told him it was time to go and the house was 98% done. 2 months later I get a call from the Realtor telling me there is a guy at the house stealing all the appliances and destroyed a wall to pull the copper-wire out. It was the handyman I hired.

$8k to fix all the damage.... get rid of him now.. You can not help these people unless "they" truly want help. Also, the chemical alters their brain so much that they will never be the same. Run.
