      Adobe's "Classroom In a Book" is easy to follow. There are also lots of excellent tutorials online.

      A good organization to join, whose Membership pays for itself fast, is the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). They have a monthly magazine titled Photoshop User, and their web site is chock full of information:
