Need some feedback here on Seagate Barracuda LP HD 2TB Drive

    Anyone using these?
Give me your feedback on reliability please....preferable from the few of you that put these drives under HUGE pressure like encoding, rendering or other massive processing.

I thinking about swapping our 1,5TB drives in one of our NAS setups but being a bit careful!

Looks like the Hitachi 2TB version is a LOT faster!

I'd go with the Hitachi over the Seagate if I were you.

Yeah i see that they are much faster, about 10x faster actually.
I need to find out if they are reliable though.

You used either of these yet?

I think we have killed 2-3 of them in the last 3 years but bought them by the hundreds so my stats are great....

However models vary and I?m very very careful when new ones come out.
Especially as i need to buy 10 of them at once minimum to fill one NAS system....if they suck I?m out 2-3,5K ouch

The seagate 2tb drives are slow compared to the WD 2tb drives.
