    Xtube virus?

I was on XTube the other day and something tried to install on my computer. I let xtube know but they said the issue was on my end. Has anyone else noticed anything weird trying to install on your computer while surfing xtube?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Problem is on your end.

You need to get an operating system that won't allow things to "try to install" on your computer.

My system catches it before it installs. I've talked to other people that have had the same issue.

I agree that the problem is most likely on his end, but it's hardly the fault of the OS.

I tried on winXP and nothing malicious tried to install. I just visited the main page though and didn't click in anywhere.

not on Xtube, but I thought my computer was pretty secure (other than I was behind a bit on installing some recent windows updates) and I recently got hit hard by a bad malware/spyware/adware trojan/virus.... I didn't install anything manually, but it must have happened automatically while I was googling around a bunch of sites

it was pretty bad malware, it hijacked all browser requests sending me to porn sites instead, wouldn't allow task manager to run, and kept popping up windows claiming that there was a virus on the computer and that it needed to scan and offering to sell an antivirus (I'm using XP)

I was able to clean it all up using MalwareBytes anti-malware program running in safe mode, a few other anti-spyware programs I tried had difficulties and ended up infected themselves.

I think stuff like this is usually the result of one rogue advertisement that is in the banner rotation, so it might not be noticed by many, but it will show up once in a while and try to infect.

It isn't on the main page, it happens on the videos page. I had 5-10 employees in different states have the same issue so far.

All tube sites should pass viruses.

In the past few days I got hit by the same virus when surfing the big tube sites. Got most of it removed and when back to make sure that was where I got and sure enough it reinstalled. I am going to reinstall OS over the weekend to make sure it is all gone. Makes you wonder
