vBulletin ?

Now that I have more freetime, I am looking at different board (among other things) options for one of my sites.

I already have members, and I had a generic 'simple machine' board up. Which was a nice change from the previous, but doesn't dazzle me beyond that. I have been looking around as some different vbulletin options.

Are they customizable by woj?

Can you pay for something a bit more custom, or do they come with different templates?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have 2 boards with vbulletin and they are TOTALLY customizable. GFY is running vbulletin and you see how much it's style (vbulletin calls it's skins styles) changes. You can go to vbulletin.org and see all of the free styles people have posted as well as vbulletin-fans.com and see even more.

Although it may not be the Vbulletin support forum, I think he's asking a group of people who use all different types of forum software which is better.

I run two forums with vbulletin and like it a lot more than when I was running phpbb (seemed really buggy). There's a ton of options in vbulletin that phpbb 3 did not have, but supposedly the new phpbb has even more options than vb... we'll see. I'm sure you can find a way to check the admin panel of vbulletin before purchasing.

I have installed a lot of boards for clients, one of them really seems to be as good as vBulletin, but it's name escapes me right now.. I can help you out with VB if you have issues, so long as it is nothing to critical... As soon as the name comes back to me, I will post the url etc here.

Or wait, how about this EMAIL their support staff, I'm sure they can answer your questions. Do your own fucking research and leg work... toolbox.

True, I do run VB on a couple of my own sites, but to be honest, IB would provide all of my needs... It depends of each site.. All I need is people to be able to post messages, post pics/movies and leave comments. Oh, and to be able to integrate billing.. but as far as I know, that is allways either customer or something similar to amember..

I can customize... drop me an email, I am back at work Wednesday. But if you are looking for a cheap solution, researching yourself is probably the best way to go.. If not now, in the long term... A wize man once said.. A good programer (coder) is worth his weight in gold. Best thing I ever did was teach myself.

As I said, people in this industry use some of the same programs asshat. So why wouldn't someone ask on an INDUSTRY BOARD about something like this. Especially if vB doesn't allow adult.
